What is Implantology?
Implantology is the insertion of replacement teeth for individuals with missing teeth and gaps in their smile. The procedure involves creating an artificial tooth that resembles the person's own lost tooth. An artificial tooth root is then inserted into the jaw bone and subsequently, the artificial tooth is attached to the root. Oftentimes, bone regeneration may be needed prior to dental implantation in order to create a stronger foundation to securely anchor the implanted root. Dental implants are a natural-looking alternative to traditional bridgework.
